Description
Short three-hour workshops making something small, choose from morning or afternoon. The course cost includes all materials and refreshments.
Held in the Furzie Workshop - set in the beautiful Somerset countryside on Bowdens Farm, near Langport.
Wool Sculpture courses, both scheduled dates and private bookings available. The workshop is in a converted farm building with its own kitchen and bathroom facilities and the Brown and Forrest Smokery and Cafe on site - where you could enjoy lunch before or after your course (not included).
There is plenty of parking on site - please ask if you require special access parking.
Other art and craft courses will also be offered - also other dates and private parties - please ask!
Frequently Asked Questions
What is needlefelting?
Although it has its roots in a centuries old form of cloth making, needle-felting is a relatively new art, an off-shoot of industrial felt-making from the nineteenth century. Woollen fibres are bonded together using specially designed barbed needles to form a firm material which can be made into 3-D shapes.
Do I have to be artistic?
No! We use a wire armature frame in the models which immediately helps you with proportions. You will be gently guided through the entire process. Relax and enjoy - you only have yourself to please.
Do I have to be good at sewing?
No sewing (or glueing) involved. You will be amazed how the fibres bond together with just a little stabbing.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
All materials are included and tools loaned to you. It is important however, to bring a printed picture of the animal you would like to make.
