Description
A 1-2-1 wool sculpture day with Furzie in her Workshop in the beautiful Somerset countryside on Bowdens Farm, near Langport.
The workshop is in a converted farm building with its own kitchen and bathroom facilities. Lunch will be in the Brown and Forrest Smokery Cafe here on site.
During the day you will be shown how to plan and make your own wool sculpture to take home. You can make any animal you wish based on a wire armature frame around 6 to 7 inches in height.

Needlefelting is actually very easy and great fun, you don't need to be particularly artistic and you will be guided and supported throughout the day.
The course cost includes all materials, a fabulous lunch and refreshments through out the day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is needlefelting?
Although it has its roots in a centuries old form of cloth making, needle-felting is a relatively new art, an off-shoot of industrial felt-making from the nineteenth century. Woollen fibres are bonded together using specially designed barbed needles to form a firm material which can be made into 3-D shapes.
Do I have to be good at sewing?
No sewing (or glueing) involved. You will be amazed how the fibres bond together with just a little stabbing.
Do I have to be artistic?
No! We use a wire armature frame in the models which immediately helps you with proportions. You will be gently guided through the entire process. Relax and enjoy - you only have yourself to please.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
All materials are included and tools loaned to you. It is important however, to bring a printed picture of the animal you would like to make.
